You’re 4 and a half months old now. You’re smiling more now. You understand. Sometimes I’m afraid I’ll never be able to say no to you; it’s that kind of smile. You’re sleeping now. You mostly manage to fall asleep on your own. Sometimes I still rock you to sleep. It’s harder now; you’re bigger, but I still love it. The way your head falls onto my hand, and I know you’re drifting, even though I cannot see your face. We want to teach you so many things, but sometimes I think I’m missing how much you’re teaching us. Not intentionally, not yet. But kindness, patience, honesty, resilience, ambition - for me, they are super-charged. Or at least it feels like that. You’re sleeping so well now. I hope you dream big.
